I did the 50-mile performance course for the first time in five weeks. I planned on just doing a moderate pace but ended up with a 26mph average on the 14.6 mile uphill TT course which starts my ride. There was no intention of going that fast, it just happened without getting "up" for it. That's 1mph faster than my best speed on the Fogcom.
After that I backed it off a notch but was able to motor up the hills in a bigger gear with a relaxed effort. Based on hill speed my power is up at least ten percent from five weeks ago. I've already outgrown the extra six teeth on my chainring. I ended up with a 25.1mph average speed compared to 24.5mph with a lower perceived rate of exertion. Good times!
