training 3-17-08

One hour on the trainer for a 67 watt average. The fourteen extra watts done with a slightly lower cadence on my last training ride really made a significant difference in tissue breakdown; much deeper than the superficial damage I normally feel after a training ride. Actually, it's even more than I experienced during my high-performance test-run. That's okay as long as I wait for full recovery before I repeat the effort.

I think since my training rides are going to be less frequent I will switch back to the performance course for those rides. There are too many stoplights and stop signs on the other course and it's becoming more of a nuiciance as I'm getting faster. In an effort to maintain my average I am starting to take more risks. Since I'm allowing myself to put out more power the hills are less likely to drive me over my self-imposed limit. If it does, I'll just put smaller gears on the bike.

I chopped off the derailleur post and sanded it down. Now it's starting to have that sexy, Euro racer look again.
